Wide anticlastic sterling silver cuff bracelet.
Traditionally hand made anticlastically raised sterling silver and 24k gold Keum-Boo butterfly cuff bracelet with a hand hammered texture.
Each bracelet will be unique, no two will be identical, due to the processes involved in making them.
Measures approx. 1 3/8" wide (35 mm) and is formed from a 6 1/2" length of silver (165 mm)
Because the back is open, the bracelet will fit most sized wrists. Silver is a malleable metal (easy to shape) so you can gently prize apart by using equal strength on both edges or close together by the same method if required.

KEUM BOO TECHNIQUE.
Keum-boo is an ancient Korean gilding technique used to apply thin sheets of gold to silver.
Traditionally, this technique is accomplished by first depleting a surface of sterling silver to bring up a thin layer of fine silver. Then 24 carat gold foil is applied with heat and pressure to produce a permanent diffusion bond.
Pure precious metals such as gold and silver have a very similar atomic structure and therefore have a good potential for bonding. Heating these metals to a temperature between 500-700°F increases the movement of the atoms. When pressure is added, this causes an electron exchange at the surface between the two metals, creating a permanent diffusion bond. This diffusion bond occurs far below the soldering temperature for either metal.

Hallmarking - timescales, requirements and verifiability.
The UK 1973 Hallmarking Act requires by law that items weighing over 7.78grams in silver be hallmarked by the assay office. Items under this weight do not require this and may be stamped '925' or 'sterling' by the maker.
The UK assay office hallmark is your absolute guarantee of purity of metal.
I am registered with the Goldsmiths Assay office in London and have my own sponsors mark registered with them.
All of my items weighing over 7.7 grams of silver will have the full UK hallmark which incorporates my registered sponsors mark into it.
Items I make that are under 7.7 grams of silver will either have 925 and my initials marked on the back or, often, will have no marks at all. (occasionally I get them hallmarked under the 7 grams anyways!)
If you would like any of my smaller items to be hallmarked please contact me about the costs and times involved in doing so.
Hallmarking usually takes between one and three weeks to process, but can be expedited for an additional fee.
Custom made and made to order items for residents of other countries who do not wish for the items to be hallmarked (to save time and expense!)
Under part II of schedule 1 of the 1973 Hallmarking Act. As amended by the
Hallmarking (Exempted Articles) (Amendment) Order 1975 and the Hallmarking
(Exempted Articles) Orders 1982 and 1986.

Please ask when (or before) ordering if you wish to take advantage of the exemption I can still stamp your item 925 and with my initials in place of the assay office hallmark if required in this situation.
